The Receive size is the buffer size for downloading a file from an FTP site; the Transmission size is the buffer size for uploading.1 If you are in the Connection dialog box, close it.2 Select Options from the View menu, and click the Advanced tab.3 Set the Network Buffer Receive size. This controls the maximum number of bytes processed each time your PC reads from the network. The value can vary from 80 to 4096. You should see the best results with this set to 4096.
